All invoices are issued in Italian XML SdI format and transmitted to the Italian Revenue Agency's Sistema di Interscambio (SdI). We support SDI codes and PEC. Payment is monthly in advance with 22% VAT for Italian customers; reverse-charge applies for EU VAT-registered businesses.
What is Target SMTP?
Target SMTP is a European service for sending transactional and marketing email via SMTP relay and REST API. It replaces mailers like SendGrid, Mailgun and Postmark with EU hosting, Italian-speaking support and Italian e-invoicing (SdI/PEC).
Can I send marketing email as well as transactional?
Yes. The service supports both. For marketing you'll need to manage your lists properly with double opt-in, an unsubscribe link (mandatory for GDPR compliance) and respect bounce/complaint thresholds.
What happens if one of my customers sends spam?
An anti-abuse system is active 24/7: bounce parser, FBL handler for spam reports, automatic suspension if the complaint rate exceeds 0.1% or the bounce rate 5%. You'll be notified before your domain's reputation is compromised.
Can I change plan at any time?
Yes. You can upgrade at any time from the dashboard: pro-rata is computed automatically. Downgrades apply from the next billing period.
What happens if I exceed my monthly limit?
We don't block sending: you pay overage per 1,000 additional emails at your plan's rate. The account admin is notified at 75%, 90% and 100% of the threshold.
Is there a free trial?
No, we don't offer free trials. We prefer a low-cost entry plan with monthly billing, no commitment, the ability to cancel at any time and assisted migration included.
Can I pay by bank transfer or PayPal?
Yes. Stripe (card + SEPA Direct Debit) is the primary method, but we also accept bank transfer for annual orders or above a certain threshold. PayPal is not currently supported.
Can I have a dedicated IP?
Yes, on Growth and higher plans (or as an add-on). It includes a gradual 30-day warmup guided by our team.
Can I use my own sender domain?
Yes, and you should. Each account configures one or more sender domains with its own DKIM keypair. The system generates SPF, DKIM and DMARC records ready to publish on your domain's DNS. Reputation belongs to your domain, never shared.
Are the servers in Italy?
Physical servers are in the European Union (certified datacenters). We do not advertise "Italian IPs" to avoid making inaccurate claims. What matters for deliverability is the reputation of the sending IP and domain, both fully under our control.
What APIs do you offer?
A modern REST API at /v1/messages with Bearer-token authentication, idempotency keys, exponential retry and transparent rate-limiting headers. Webhooks for delivered, bounced, opened, clicked and complaint events. Official SDKs for PHP, Node.js and Python in progress.
How fast is the service?
API ingestion typically has P50 < 50ms and P95 < 150ms latency from within Europe. Throughput depends on your plan. Actual delivery to the recipient mail server depends on the receiver.
